Race results for canoe and kayak races in the UK. The data are limited to marathon results and don’t include other event types like sprint. The majority of the races are part of the Hasler Series, which is the club championship.
Data were scraped from https://entries.gbcanoemarathon.co.uk/results/races and are published at https://datawookie.gitlab.io/british-canoeing-results/.
These data files are available in the public/
directory:
results.json
— compact JSON
data dumped by crawlerresults-indented.json
—
indented JSON data with some cleaningresults.csv
— flattened CSV
data. For analytical purposes the CSV file might be most useful.

Notes:
result_id
is not a unique row identifier. If there
are two paddlers in a boat then there will be two entries with the same
result_id
.category
field reflects the division of the
paddler(s). This is a number from 1 (highest, elite) to 9 (lowest,
beginner) that indicates skill level based on previous results. If there
are two paddlers in a boat then the effective division is the average of
their respective divisions, rounded down (towards lower numerical
value). These data are collected and curated by Andrew Collier
